You might have heard the word "daijoubu" before and wondered what it meant | 皆さん、大丈夫っていう言葉を聞いたときに、この大丈夫はどういう意味って思ったことありませんか? | みなさん、だいじょうぶっていうことばをきいたときに、このだいじょうぶはどういういみっておもったことありませんか? | mina-san, daijoubu tte iu kotoba o kīta toki ni, kono daijoubu wa dou iu imi tte omotta koto arimasen ka? |
Even us Japanese people at times wonder what "daijoubu" really means | 僕たち日本人でもよく大丈夫ってどういう意味?っていうふうに思うことがあります | ぼくたちにほんじんでもよくだいじょうぶってどういういみ?っていうふうにおもうことがあります | bokutachi nihonjin de mo yoku daijoubu tte dou iu imi? tte iu fū ni omou koto ga arimasu |

The basic meaning of daijoubu is the same as "ok" | 大丈夫の使い方は基本的にokとかこういう意味なんですけど | だいたけおっとのつかいかたはきほんてきにおくとかこういういみなんですけど | daijoubu no tsukai kata wa kihonteki ni ok toka kou iu imi nan desu kedo |
but what is difficult about it is it sometimes also means "no" | なんで難しいかと言うとたまにNoの意味があるからです | なんでむずかしいかとゆうとたまにののいみがあるからです | nan de muzukashī ka to iu to tamani "no" no imi ga aru kara desu |
A very common example would be going to a convenience store | すごいよく使うのはコンビニに行ったときです | すごいよくつかうのはコンビニにおこなったときです | sugoi yoku tsukau no wa konbini ni itta toki desu |
