At first, I was lost. I started studying in 2013 and I used a lot of apps, textbooks, and other things そうだね最初は 迷ったねあの2013年に勉強し始めてあのいろんなアプリとか教科書を使った sou da ne saisho wa mayotta ne ano 2013 nen ni benkyou shi hajimete ano ironna apuri toka kyoukasho o tsukatta
For example, what was it, like Rosetta Stone and Remembering the Kanji 例えばロゼッタストーンとか tatoeba rozettasutōn toka
and I used all kinds of hiragana and katakana apps いろんなひらがなとカタカナのアプリを使ったりとか ironna hiragana to katakana no apuri o tsukattari toka
Finally I found Genki and あのついにGENKIを見つけて ano tsuini genki o mitsukete
I used Genki 1, 2 and Tobira and I was saved GENKI1と2ととびらを使って助かった genki 1 to 2 toto bira o tsukatte tasukatta
Yeah at first I focussed on textbooks but now I'm more casual and studying than what I used to. **should be: studying more casually (カジュアルに)and 先じゃなくて前 最初は教科書に集中したけど、前より今の方がもっとカジュアルに勉強している saisho wa kyoukasho ni shūchū shita kedo, mae yori ima no hou ga motto kajuaru ni benkyou shite iru

how do you remember kanji? Do you actually write them out? 漢字ってどうやって覚えてる 実際に書く? kanji tte douyatte oboeteru jissaini kaku?
Um, this is embarrassing but I don't actually study kanji そうだねあの恥ずかしいけど実は漢字を勉強しない soudane ano hazukashī kedo jitsuha kanji o benkyou shinai

If I were to say why... it's boring. なぜかというとつまらない。 naze ka to iu to tsumaranai.

Instead of studying kanji, I study words 漢字を勉強する代わりに言葉を勉強する kanji o benkyou suru kawarini kotoba o benkyou suru

Through the readings of the words, I'm learning to read the kanji readings. 言葉の読み方を通じてあの漢字の読み方を習っている kotoba no yomikata o tsūjite ano kanji no yomikata o naratte iru

Right now I'm doing an N2 vocab course 今N2の語彙のコースをしている ima n 2 no goi no kōsu woshite iru
I hear that Memrise is good, there are other that people use it [that I know] そうなんだ、 なんかmemorize いいって聞く、他の人も使ってる souna nda, nanka memori ze ī tte kiku, hoka no hito mo tsukatteru

I want to try to talk to people from all kinds of other countries いろんな国の人と話してみたいから ironna kuni no hito to hanashite mitai kara
